Text Box: Most people experience pain, fear, guilt and anger. Much of these feelings exist due to misconceptions. When people achieve a greater understanding of these misconceptions, these feelings can diminish and go away. While heavy emotions can help us identify areas that require focus, it is not necessary to activate these emotions at all times.

All people are the center of their universe. While we realize that we are only one person and see the world around us, we still apply everything to ourselves. It is necessary to be self-centered to survive, and humans have been thinking about themselves since the beginning of time.

Whatever we see, hear, feel, touch and smell enters our awareness through filters. The first filter of choice decides what we pay attention to. There are many sources of input in our environment, and we only allow some of them to consciously influence us. Once we have chosen input, we begin to evaluate and categorize.

Within our minds are many thoughts. As these thoughts begin to move in patterns, we experience feelings. Current feelings are matched with past memories and amplified. Different thoughts create different feelings, and we store memories to use as tools for creating emotions. We also formulate stories that support our belief systems, and we perceive the world based on our beliefs.

As we create our world, there are many influences. Every experience you have had in your life is stored in your mind, shaping how you look at each situation. Everything you have been taught is with you, whether you believe it or not. Psychological tests have proven that people will alter their behavior based on false information, even when the falsehood is revealed. Doubts can be created in your mind even if the facts presented were untrue, or later recanted.

Much of our belief system is based on our ego. We believe that the world revolves around us. We believe that we have influence where we do not, and we believe that everyone else’s issues and concerns include us. They do not. Not everything is about us.

When you sit in silence and watch the world, energy is constantly moving. People are always interacting, weather is always changing, trees are always growing. In silence we can sit in peace and realize that none of our issues and concerns really matter to the world. The world goes on with or without us.

From that moment of peace and silence it is you who decides what to add to the world. You choose to attach to the moving energy; you choose to carry the flavor of the moment. Which thoughts do you emphasize? What input do you choose to focus on? What feelings do you choose to generate?

Within our cellular memories are events and experiences that have shaped who we are. We can recall stories with extreme detail as we relive moments from our past. Within these moments are emotions that we have carried for years. There comes a time when it is no longer necessary to carry this energy, and it can be released simply by allowing it to go away.

The world is large, and no one individual can change it all. What you can change is your experience. How the world treats you is directly related to how you treat the world. Enter it with enthusiasm, confidence and compassion, and you will receive back your greatest desires. You CAN change your world, and the world changes with you.
