Text Box: Each day, as we progress through our tasks and activities, the game of life surrounds us. Each time we interact with others, complementary energy is created. Participation in our own game can only occur by playing with others as well. The more we interact, the faster the game seems to go.

There are many things in life to take seriously. Of prime interest is how we treat others, and what effects we have on their lives. Another point of focus is our own well-being on many levels. Our physical health is paramount, and every decision we make has impact. Our mental and emotional health tends to be much more varied, and at any given moment our thoughts can be far from our location. Ultimately, our spiritual health has the most influence on our enjoyment of the game.

In any given activity there is choice. When we wake up in the morning, we choose to get out of bed. From there, each step has intent whether we admit it or not. All action has effect, while inaction also directly influences the outcome. Even our tone of voice has influence, and the joy or sorrow that we express when we say ‘hello’ influences the rest of an interaction.

The situation of our lives can be directly related to how we have played the game so far. Everything that you don’t want in your life is there because of the choices made and actions taken. Everything that you love in your life is there because you have taken steps to include certain elements. You are who you are because of your choices. While each person may have barriers to overcome and issues to deal with, the key is not to blame or question but to move forward. Also, remember that undesired situations may be present to help guide you towards a glorious future.

Of course, there are many elements of life that seem to be out of control. The actions and feelings of others are theirs alone, even though you may influence them. The seeming randomness of everyday life continuously alters the game. What is most important to recognize is that your feelings in the moment are less related to your external situation and more related to what is inside. Like surfers on the ocean, we are swept along by the waves but still have the ability to steer.

To me, the game of life is exciting, thrilling, wonderful and joyous. Of course there are moments when I worry about the past or future, but my tendency is to accept things the way they are, maintain my personal balance, and to move forward with creation. There is a fine line between allowing the universe to unfold and taking direct responsibility for the shaping of the future. With too much allowing, nothing gets done. With too much focus on creation, we can miss the open doors by staring at the closed ones.

Ultimately, the easiest balance in life is somewhere between helplessness and control. All real change begins within, and our influence on the external world is directly dependent upon our inner selves. While it helps to maintain full awareness of what is going on around you, efforts put into self-development pay off more than any other activity in life. The game is constantly changing, and as we ride the wave of quantum reality, our real power comes from within.
