Text Box: In the year 1 AD, the human population on this planet was only 300,000. It took until the early 1800’s for the population to reach 1 billion. By 1900 AD the number had grown to 1.6 billion, and by the year 2000 there were over 6.2 billion human souls on earth. Whether fueled by technology, advances in medicine, or a series of baby booms, the past century has seen our numbers grow to a critical state.

Where do all these souls come from? If reincarnation is a fact, then only one-quarter of the souls on earth have been here longer than 100 years. Despite claims of past life memories, most souls were not around prior to the invention of planes and cars. While many resonate with such diverse memories as the US Civil War or the height of Egyptian civilization, less than 5% of us could actually have been there.

The fault in the logic of reincarnation is the idea of singular linearity. We each think of ourselves as special, and trace the existence of our soul back to ancient times. However, what if our memories are not unique? Perhaps there is a sharing of memories within the mass consciousness. Perhaps what we perceive as past life memories are actually connection to events in historic times.

Our historic knowledge is more often based upon stories than fact. As books and movies become popular, another aspect of history enters the mass consciousness. How many people felt an increased connection with Scotland after the release of Braveheart and Rob Roy? Did you side with the Greeks or the Trojans in Troy?

Our link to memories of past lives may not be singular. We tend to think of a past life as our self in a different body and time period. What we are really accessing is memories of being in that time as a species. All experiences become part of the mass consciousness, and many are reinforced through modern media. Much of what we recognize as past life is learned in this life.

As our species grows and accesses knowledge, it is shared. Development builds upon previous achievements, so we continually progress forward. We constantly learn new things, and we constantly create new experiences. As human knowledge advances, much of it is being captured on the internet.

The web site ‘www.wikipedia.org’ is a continually growing database of knowledge. Like a giant encyclopedia, mankind is documenting information in ten different languages. Every day new topics are created and new details are added. While there is a filtration system, it is possible for information to be false. However, as readers correct the errors over time, more accurate details are collected.

In new age philosophy, the Akashic Records are the culmination of all human knowledge, past and future. Once we learn how to access these records, we will remember and understand all that is. As a species, we are already there. By learning how to separate from ego and connect to oneness, we can access the knowledge that has developed. Is there more to learn? Absolutely. The path is correct, and the time is ripe. Soon we will know all that is.
