Text Box: Our lives are full of contrast and choice. In virtually every moment of existence, we are experiencing at least one perception of reality. And in each of these moments, there are other perceptions and realities available to us. Though at times it seems the river of life sweeps us along helplessly, we continuously have choice.

From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, thoughts begin to dominate our mind. We start to plan our day, and already feelings move towards joy or displeasure. We begin to gather information, and as we take each step we make a choice. Sometimes the choices are habitual, and we regularly move through our morning routine undertaking the same tasks as yesterday. Other times the choices require more thought; for example we choose our clothing based on many parameters.

As we begin to interact with the world, every moment involves choice. Do we read the newspaper, or check the weather by walking outside? Do we read our email, make a phone call, start a household chore or drive to an appointment? Though each step may result from previous actions, any further action is always a choice. Also, recognizing how all of our choices have led us to where we are, how can we want anything different?

The answer is that we will always want more. Even if our choices have manifested exactly what we desired, there is still something else to do. That is the joy of life; that each moment leads to the next, and we are the creators of each moment. Simple as it may sound, the dimension in which we exist requires constant motion and constant change.

The best part about choice is the creation of desires. When we are clear about our desires, they often manifest. When we are confused or overwhelmed by choices, our lives often go on a holding pattern. Sometimes it seems that all the things we don’t want come into our lives, while our dreams and desires hang like carrots on the horizon. However, again this is recognition of contrasts, and all we can do is keep moving towards that which we want.

We live in a dimension of endless opportunity and experience. In this universe, you can find and manifest whatever you want. There is always good news and bad news; where do you focus your attention? There is always happiness and sadness, abundance and shortage, life and death. As each of us creates our environment and destiny, it is not necessary to include everything that is.

The path that you choose is yours alone. While others may influence your decisions, you still choose the depth of their influence. Though each of us accepts responsibilities and limitations, they are often self-defined. To create what we want, we only need to follow our heart and desires. The universe helps everything else fall into place.
