Text Box: They say that it takes all kinds to make the world go round.
Here are some examples:

Thousands of Muslims have taken up arms in protest of cartoons printed in a Danish newspaper, and then reprinted by other newspapers. The caricature of Mohammed is apparently the gravest insult to Islam, and worth killing for. The cartoons of Jehovah, Jesus and Buddha caused little reaction. Ultimately, the beauty of Islam is continuously overshadowed by the intense emotions that many Muslims attach to honor and the defending of their faith. There are many rules in Islam that cannot be broken. However, killing innocent people is allowed if honor has been challenged. Pardon?

In Israel, thousands of Jewish settlers battle their own police, refusing to be moved from disputed land. The protesters gathered to prevent the demolition of nine uninhabited houses. This land is our land, and we will die for it. Pardon?

Thousands of Aibo-owners are upset that Sony has discontinued production of the robot dog that is programmed to recognize its owner’s voice and perform tricks. More than 150,000 robots have been sold. The toy costs about $2000, more than five times the annual income of the average African. Pardon?

In the US, the Bush administration is asking for an additional $120 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. An estimated $320 billion has already been spent on these campaigns. Pardon?

In Iraq, the trial of Saddam Hussein continues, despite the absence of the key player. The trial revolves around tales of torture and killing. Apparently, Saddam and the defense team are boycotting the trial. Pardon?

A woman in Argentina has lived for the past year in a nest that she built from branches in a tree near the San Rafael train station. "I'm not homeless and I have a house that I could live in if I wanted to. I just choose to live in a tree, that's all." Pardon?

It all comes down to the bottom line. Nothing really matters until you choose to make it matter. What are you passionate about? What beliefs are you willing to defend? What actions of others do you refuse to tolerate? What you think is right may be wrong for someone else; what you think is crazy may be normal for someone else.

In all contrast there is judgment, and it helps to remember that there is no real truth. All existence is an illusion, and we can create and perceive whatever we want to create and perceive. In my opinion, the least crazy story in this article is about the woman in a tree.
After all, she isn’t harming anyone.
