Text Box: The best way to describe my life at the moment relates to the Ed Sullivan show. There was a guy who used to spin plates on sticks. He would start one plate spinning, and then the next and then the next. Soon he would have six plates spinning on six sticks.

As each plate began to slow down, it would start to wobble. When that happened, the man would run to the plate and give it a few more spins to speed it up. Once all six plates were spinning, it required occasional focus in different areas to keep them moving well.

As I write this I have many projects underway. Business projects, Internet projects, Writing projects and Publishing projects all require time and effort. Each has a series of steps and I overlap them all. I have also taken on personal change at an accelerated pace, both internally and externally. It really is kind of fun.

One of the key elements for me is focus. When I work on a particular project, I attempt to give it my entire attention. Of course I am scattered at times and thinking of many things at once, but each project progresses best when I give it focus. Even an hour of focused effort can make a difference.

The challenge of spinning so many plates comes when more than one wobbles at the same time. Perhaps you can only give a little boost to one project before moving on to the next, knowing that the first plate can go on just a little longer. It really helps to have assistance and to be able to hand off tasks to other spinners. Collaboration makes life easier and makes the world a better place.

The other challenge for me is that once I have six plates spinning, I often look for a seventh. While this habit has left me with some incomplete projects, I am learning to manifest through to completion. The advantage that I have is that some of the plates are nearly full and ready to go. I have been spinning some plates for a while and anticipate an interesting and successful new year. With five weeks to go, I am already gearing up for 2009.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family in America!
