Text Box: Last night I celebrated the new year with some old friends. Though it is already mid-January, we decided that the first two weeks of the year had been like purgatory, and that it was now time for the official new year to begin. The world has agreed with us, and for the past couple of weeks things have been slow.

It is now time to kick start the next shift in our consciousness. The new year has arrived and we are each empowered to create the world that we want. Now more than ever feelings of hope are overcoming feelings of helplessness and despair. Each of us is beginning to realize the importance of our own activities in the outcome of the human play.

In the coming year, we are provided with opportunities of empowerment, of creating balance, and of manifestation.

Empowerment comes from within, and is simply a realization of one’s own capabilities. Using your capabilities requires action, and momentum builds as we participate.

Balance exists both within and without. The objective is to remain balanced in body, mind, emotions and spirit. We perceive constant adjustments to our surrounding field, and are always reacting to what occurs outside us. Remaining focused on your own balance helps you adapt to external influences.

The biggest threat to balance comes from within. It is imperative to remain aware of your own state. Regularly check in to identify your thoughts, emotions and physical being. Do this exercise as an observer instead of a participant, and then make the required adjustments to move towards balance.

More than just the moment, balance is also about the sum total of your life. The pendulum swings constantly, and it is the combination of all your life aspects that result in your current state of being. Which way does your pendulum want to swing? Which aspects of your life are out of balance, and what movement resolves that balance? Which desires drive you, and which activities fuel your excitement?

Manifestation involves both empowerment and balance. Choosing what to manifest involves many alternatives, and most people manifest by default. By allowing random choices to come to the surface, there can be a continuous flow of reward. By specifying the feelings that go with your manifestation, you begin to move into that vibration. By acting in a manner that moves towards manifestation, completion is inevitable.

In the year ahead, we will experience many different energies. The world is shifting and there will be many more planetary changes. Human consciousness is also changing, and the contrasts may grow more extreme as we begin to identify who we are and what we want. In the year ahead, there will be a lot to think about, and many distractions.

Reacting to the waves of the world is a necessary part of life, and part of the fun. The game would be less exciting if you were completely in control. It is the combination of mass consciousness that results in the world as it is, and your input can simply sway the consciousness, not control it. Ultimately, remaining in your own power is the most important directive for 2006.

So the opportunity of the year is to make choices, and to act on them. We often wait for the universal phone to ring, and we can increase the likelihood of manifestation by focusing our minds and efforts onto the task. It really is quite simple. Thoughts become words become actions become manifest. Now go and create your world. Happy New Year!
