Text Box: Hello world. Welcome to my first column of 2008. It already seems that a lot has happened this year. Sorry that ‘Weekly Inspirations’ has not lived up to its name over the past few months. I reset my intention to write and publish throughout this year.

A lot has gone on in the world over the past couple of months. Can you feel it? The energy is shifting and people are stepping into their own power. The old school still shouts about fear and many still listen. The new school steps into a new vibration and realizes empowerment. We are each in control of self. We manage self to help the world.

As we co-create our existence, each person addresses many internal issues. As individuals we are all-powerful. As a species we still require growth. Our growth is self-initiated and nothing is beyond our means. The condition of humanity has developed based on the actions we have taken. While we enjoy our creations of beauty, we have also created pain and ugliness that we wish to eliminate.

In a world of duality, there are great contrasts in the mass conscience. While every person has a different vision of ‘heaven’, many of us have created our heaven around us. Many also live in their own version of hell. While wanting more is simply a stimulant for creation, satisfaction is a choice. Some people live in similar environments, potentially with more material possessions, yet still without inner peace. While there is always something to compare to, sometimes comparison is disadvantageous.

In extreme contrast to most readers, there are people on this planet without food, shelter or water. Many live in violent and dangerous conditions, yet some still have the ability to smile. Others live in politically instable environments, acquainted with the sound of gunfire and bombs. Most of us are exposed to a world that we don’t want when watching the news. When we walk out the door into the world that we experience, we still remember what is happening elsewhere.

The largest nations in the world are undergoing tremendous change. The United States is experiencing power shifting both internally and externally, no longer holding the position of solitary world leader. China has an economic and military presence that signifies great power, but there is unrest within. A shift to ‘democracy’ is imminent, though the definitions of mass control will change. India rises as a power, advancing technology and supplying communication centers to the world. The newly united European Union acts as one, teaching us that diversity can be managed within a group. Finally, the wisdom of Russia can shine through as intellectuals with passion overcome a military based on fear.

The world itself is changing as well. We can see evidence through the changing patterns of birds, fish and animals. We can measure the reduction in ice caps and the resulting rise in water. We can anticipate storms and deal with changing weather patterns. Ultimately we can adapt as a species to almost any conditions. It is now up to us to change our ways and nurture our planet instead of harming it.

We begin by nurturing ourselves. As we learn to love ourselves, change occurs within. As we express our love and appreciation to each person we meet, the positive vibration is passed on and amplified. When all on this planet exist in a state of love and compassion we will have created paradise.

The journey ahead of us may not be easy. There may be times when emotions are activated, when fears come to the surface, when serious questions arise. Count each as a blessing that allows you to grow. Recognize that your path is perfect. Understand that you are in control of your own energy field. Use your power to set creation in motion and see what happens. The rest is up to the universe.

Happy New Year everyone!
